KABINGA

COUNTRY
Kabinga comprises an excellent mixture of highly productive flood irrigation country and open farming and grazing country. Soil types are fertile red and brown loams. The property features 125 ha of borderless check flood irrigation which has established Lucerne pastures and a phalaris seed paddock that is harvested annually for use throughout the Berryjerry holding.

The western end of Kabinga is utilised for cropping and grazing with the country featuring generally brown loams and lightly scattered River Red gums, Yellow and Grey box timber on the flats.

WATER
Irrigation – Kabinga has a 1170MgL Lower Murrumbidgee Ground water licence for the 125 ha (308 ac) that has been developed as borderless check irrigation. The land is developed into 10 irrigation bays with an efficient recycle system and laser levelled to a 1 in 800 gradient.

Irrigation water is supplied from Kabinga bore which is equipped with an undercover Cummings Diesel engine (with overflow gearbox and pump and above ground 4,500 litre diesel bowser), Murphy shutdown and a heat exchanger are fitted

The bore is a 300mm ID PVC bore case 88m deep (bed rock) with 26m of stainless slotted screens delivering 15 MgL per day limited only by the pump. (Has pumped up to 18 MgL per day when pump increased to full capacity). Screens are located below 60m depth. The pump is a multistage Everflow 250mm cased oil lube pump sitting at about 56m. Standing water level is about 9-10m.

Kabinga is also equipped with a newly drilled 60 m bore pumping into a new steel tank (20,000 gallon) and supplies the manager’s house and all livestock troughs in grazing paddocks via a pressurised 2 inch line. This bore also supplies the quick fill chemical station.

IMPROVEMENTS
Kabinga has a comfortable three bedroom home with separate sleep out and carport. The building is comfortable with reverse cycle air conditioning and wood heating.

WORKING IMPROVEMENTS
The holding has a three stand raised board shearing shed of steel and timber construction that is well ventilated and incorporates a workshop with a concrete floor. Adjacent to the shearing shed is a set of modern steel sheep yards with a bugle feed concreted three way draft. The yards are fitted with a sprinkler system for dust management and there is a loading ramp.

There are two haysheds on Kabinga one being a high quality hayshed 29.5m x 17.5m x 6m high of steel construction with one side enclosed, plus there is an older hayshed located next to the yards.
